Business license
Licence is a permit granting permission to engage in an activity that would otherwise be illegal, for example, driving a car. The main purpose of a licence is to protect the public interest. A licence issued by the government is required in order to pursue certain occupations, to start a business in traditional office space or run a business from home need to submit the right forms to meet District requirements and enjoy certain privileges. OBTAINING IMPORT liCENCE
The import trade is controlled under the imports and exports act. A person or a firm cannot import goods without a valid import licence. This is issued by the controller of exports and imports. An import licence may be a general licence or individual licence. General licence is one which is issued for imports from any country whereas individual or specific licence applies to the specific countries.
OPENING GENERAL liCENCE
Open General Licence is given on those scarce goods which may enter the country without any restrictions. A list of essential goods is announced for open general licence. For those good which are not listed on open general licence. Schedule an importer must secure a specific licence. This licence limits the import of the commodity to a certain value or quantity. It is also called import quota.
SECURING AN EXPORT liCENCE
Export of goods is controlled under the import and export act. Goods covered by controls cannot be exported without an export licence from the export trade controller. An export licence once issued is valid for three months from the date of its issue but extension is granted.
