Student health forms a crucial subject of concern to any nation. Youth are considered to be the treasure input and backbone of any country. Usually though the word student is entitled to anyone who pursues some or the other form of education, irrespective of ones age, it is a significant term used to designate a person pursuing studies in his primary, secondary and higher level of education of any subject and aspect. This covers most of the adolescent part of a humans life. As the students mind at this time is restless and activated in various forms of distraction, there is a chance that they tend to ignore their health. Various forms of fast food and junk food have kept away the modern student population from eating nutritious and cooked food at home . Parents should also be aware of their childrens health, so that it does not interfere in the academic performance of their child .

Parents should at first and foremost guide their children in healthy aspects of eating nutritious food, which accompany, milk, yogurt, dry fruits, lean non vegetarian items, lots of fruits and vegetables. The food eaten should involve equal amounts of carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins and essential amounts of fat .
Due to dehydration, the students should see that they drink a lot of water along with other fluid items like juices and recognized healthy beverages.
Proper and periodic vaccination should be given to the students as per the vaccination dose schedule. These days a lot of vaccinations have been developed to cure dreadful infectious disease such as Hepatitis, polio and the like.
Proper sleeping habit should also be cultivated by the students to maintain good health. Late night sleep, without early awaking habit can interfere severely with the metabolic functioning of their body. A students health can always be maintained in a good condition if he practices to get up early in the morning and start his daily activities. The famous English proverb ÂEarly to bed and early to rise makes jack healthy, wealthy and wise .
Apart from these, students could also initiate their academic activities in the early morning after practicing meditation or yoga, which is said to increase ones concentration, thus helping to focus the students attention on his desired path of interest.
Try to maintain a good circle of friends and peer, as this particular tertiary group of our society also tends to influence the students health and mental condition in a very effective way. The students since they spend most of their time along with them in the school, college or universities, a good set of friends can always tend to positively influence the students health and academic performance. Involving oneself with bad set of friends and peers who indulge in anti social activities such as drinking, smoking, eve teasing, drug addiction etc, can indulge innocent students in actively picking up the bad habits, thus ruining their health and mental peace of the parents and family.
Advantages of maintaining a good health condition by the students irrespective of all ages:
Better performance in their academic schedule could be seen if the health condition of the students is in good order.
Students can mix around with their peers and friends thus actively participating in all the extracurricular activities of the school.
Apart from academics, if the students are interested in sports activities he or she could involve in most of the sport tournaments of their school, college or university, in par with their academics.
A sense of positive feeling and approach is developed within the student.
If the students health is in a good condition, it gives a cheerful and beautiful appearance in outlook, thus making him a great achiever in all his endeavors
Disadvantages or failure in maintaining good health by the students irrespective of their ages.
Frequent occurrences of fever and other diseases if not treated properly, could disrupt the students health in a serious manner, thus affecting their academic and other extra curricular activities.
Frequent health upsets in students could also build up a feeling of inferiority in them. A long time hospitalization, long term medications could be really taxing and affecting their positive spirits deeply.

Always make it a point to spend time with your children. Allot a particular time schedule for your child, wherein the child could comfortably say his or her feeling and also convey any health hazard if it is facing in a very comfortable way. In most of the cases, when either of the parents are busy in their own world, both being employed or otherwise, the students do not feel like saying any of their problems with their parents and tend to suffer mentally and physically.
If any health hazards are noted, comfort the child in a positive way, with the hope that the problem will be rectified with proper medications.
