Alaska real estate
Alaska - The name conjures up an image of frozen lakes, snow covered mountains, glaciers, sledges, skiing and of course the Eskimos. As you are already aware, everywhere and everything in Alaska is covered with snow almost throughout the year. People belonging to this region live comfortably, adjusting very well to the low temperatures with adequate woolen clothing and heating in their residences. Before USA took over the control of Alaska, the early settlers were Russians who traversed the treacherous path of Siberia that led to Alaska. This was during the late 19th century. Many settlers established their permanence in the capital "Juneau" and the cities surrounding it. Now, the modern day Alaska is slowly, steadily and surely coming out of its "Eskimo living" mode.
There was a time when people used to think twice before going to Alaska. For them, it was no less different from the North or the South Pole. Well, with the advent of modernization, the living conditions in Alaska have changed drastically. To be honest, development is surely on its way. Today, living in Alaska doesn't mean living in an "igloo". That is quite far stretched because every person in Alaska is not on an exploration or on an arctic expedition. Juneau, Fairbanks and Anchorage are the major cities of Alaska. Anchorage is the largest city of Alaska. The infrastructure is quite good in these places despite the cold climate and the hilly terrain. Several Universities have been set up in the cities of Fairbanks and Anchorage. People from USA, Canada and other nearby countries are now willing to migrate to Alaska due to its development. This has led to the large scale construction of apartments to accommodate the increasing migratory population. Do not worry, houses out there are not built of ice. You would be surprised to find the variety of apartments, independent and duplex houses in Alaska right now. People from other nations are now willing to invest their money in buying luxurious, spacious and the environmental friendly cities of Alaska.
