Lemon chicken recipes
Lemon chicken is a blend of the Chinese and American cuisine. This dish has become a favorite on the list of most of the lunch parties and small get-togethers. The basic idea behind this dish is to coat the sautéed chicken cubes with lemon sauce and serve hot with rice or any other dish. Baked lemon chicken
This is easy to make and quick lemon chicken recipe. For this you require the following ingredients to serve 4 persons.
Chicken cut into small pieces: 1 whole
Lemon pie filling: 1 cup
Flour: 1/3 cup
Paprika: 1 tsp
Salt: 1 tsp
Oil: 1 cup
Water:1 cup
Cider vinegar: 1 cup
Soy sauce: 1 cup
How to make:
Take a bag and put the flour and seasoning in it. Add the chicken pieces to this bag and shake till all the pieces of chicken are coated. Heat the oil in a pan and cook the coated chicken pieces in it till they become brown an all sides. Place the chicken pieces on a baking pan. In another bowl take water, lemon pie filling, soy sauce and vinegar and make a paste. Pour this mixture on the chicken pieces and bake at 375 degree F uncovered for almost 1 hour till the chicken becomes soft. Garnish the chicken with slices of lemon and serve hot with rice.
Garlic Lemon chicken
Here is a recipe of lemon chicken made with butter and garlic. For this you require the following ingredients.
Chicken parts: 4-5 pounds
Lemon juice: 1 cup
Lemon peel grated: 2 tbsp
Garlic crushed: 2 cloves
Butter melted: 1 cup
Salt: 1 tsp
Dried thyme: 2 tsp
Black pepper: 1 tsp
Fresh Parsley chopped: 1 cup
Lemons thinly sliced: 2
How to make:
Wash the chicken properly and pat it dry. Place the chicken in one layer in a dish. In another bowl take the lemon peels, garlic, lemon juice, salt, thyme and pepper and mix them well. Put this mixture over the chicken and refrigerate for 3-4 hours. Keep turning the pieces frequently so that they get coated well. Remove the chicken and keep the marinade. Place the chicken in a baking dish and coat it with the melted butter and bake at 425 degrees for half an hour. Remove the chicken and brush the marinade on the chicken pieces and bake again for half an hour checking and turning it in between. The chicken should become brown and should have been cooked properly. Before serving garnish the chicken with lemon slices and the finely chopped parsley. The left over marinade can be heated and poured over the chicken pieces and served hot. You can have this garlic lemon chicken with noodles or rice.
Lemon Honey Chicken Breasts
Chicken breasts skinned and halved: 4 lb
Lemon juice: 1 cup
Honey: 1/3 cup
Boiling water: 2 tbsp
Butter stick: 1
Everglades seasoning: 1 tsp
How o make:
Wash the chicken breasts properly and pat them dry. Place the pieces on a baking dish with the bone side facing down and sprinkle the Everglades seasoning on the chicken pieces. Mix the boiling water and honey well and add the lemon juice and butter to this mixture. Blend the ingredients well and pour the mixture over the chicken pieces Cover the baking dish with an aluminum foil lightly and bake at 325 degrees till the chicken pieces are just done. Remove the foil and poke the chicken. Keep cooking and darning the chicken till it becomes brown and serve it with the lemon sauce along with steamed rice.
Chinese lemon chicken
This is a very grand way of having lemon chicken and requires much preparation. For this recipe you require the following ingredients to make 8 servings.
Chicken breast halves cut into bite sizes: 8
Egg yolks beaten: 4
Green onions sliced
Water: 1 cup
Pepper: 1/8 tsp
Salt: 1 tsp
Cooking oil: 2 cups
Cornstarch: 1 cup
For the lemon sauce you require:
Lemon juice: 1 cup
Water: 1 cup
Cornstarch: 3 tbsp
Light brown sugar: 3 tbsp
Chicken bouillon granules: 2 tsp
Honey: 3 tbsp
Ginger: 1 tsp
How to make:
Mix water and egg yolks and blend in the cornstarch, salt and pepper. Dip the chicken pieces into this mixture and fry it in the cooking oil till they become golden brown. Drain the oil and sprinkle the chopped green onions over it. To make the sauce mix all the ingredients in a pan and cook it over medium flame with constant stirring for about 5 minutes till the sauce boils. Pour this sauce over the chicken and serve with wild rice or pasta. Though this requires preparation but it is easy and quick to make. Lemon chicken does not need any occasion to be has.
