Saint Valentine tried his best to save the Christians and he was killed during his attempt to save Christians. Some other versions say that he was executed on February twenty fourth of 270 AD. The first real love and affectionate letter was written by himself during his last days in the jail. While he was about to be executed, he requested for a pen and a paper, which were provided.
