By waxing the car, the paint is protected from fading and the car looks shiny too. This waxing has to be done periodically in order to maintain its protective coat.
How to wax your car? Well, it is very important to undercoat and rustproof your vehicle especially if you are living in an area with high humidity and where the use of salt is common during winter. This is because the brake system located underneath the car gets rusted completely due to high humidity and in due time it can burst, leaving the car without brakes. Thus, if undercoating and rust proofing is done properly, all the important components of the car will be protected from corrosion.
It is also very important to repair the stone chips as soon as they appear, to prevent corrosion. To repair the stone chips, first of all, you must clean the car and dry it. Then, with a matching spray paint and with the help of a toothpick, fill up the damage without letting the paint comes out. This will prevent corrosion.
To remove deep scratches from the car, you may follow the above method of filling up the scratch with matching paint using a toothpick.
To remove residue marks (paint) left on the car by other objects, take ultra-fine 1500-grit or 2000-grit waterproof sandpaper, wet it and sand the marks until all the marks are gone. Then put a small amount of polishing compound containing mild abrasive onto a damp sponge and rub well until the clear coat becomes shiny. Then buff the area with the car wax. For best results, take care to use branded good quality wax liquid available in the market.
To remove minor scratches like those made by the bushes, etc. Put a small amount of the polishing compound containing the finest abrasive onto a damp sponge and buff the scratched area in a circular motion until the scratches disappear and then wash it off. Next, squeeze a little amount of wax onto a sponge and spread it evenly on the scratched area. Wait for sometime then buff the wax using a soft towel.
3. Polish your Car
Although polishing a car can be a lot of work, but the results are well worth of it. Polishes are available in liquids, pastes and in systems of two or more products. Before you begin to polish your car, do read the label on the products very carefully.
How to polish your car? Wash the car thoroughly and dry it. Take a damp cotton terry cloth towel and put one-inch circle of polish on it. Rub the polish on the car body in a circular motion. Let the polish dry to a haze. Take another dry cotton terry cloth towel and buff the polish. Carry out the work on small sections at a time for best results and complete the whole car. Do remember to use 100% cotton terry cloth towel to apply and remove the polish. Also, wash the towels with liquid fabric softener to keep them fluffy.
