Car wash

Introduction:

Car wash is another name for automobile cleaning and maintenance . All vehicles need periodic cleansing and washing of its body and other parts for good maintenance regularly . Hence a car wash is named as a unique facility which is used to clean the outside and at times the inside of all automobiles including cars . There are very many kinds of varieties of cars washes. But generally they fall under these three categories. They are:

Manual car wash system:

This is one of the simple and automatic types of car wash which is generally coin operated or token operated self service system . The desired vehicle to be washed is to be parked inside a large bay or garage which is equipped with soap and water sprayers along with a scrub brush. When the desired customer puts in a coin at the coin box into the controller, they have an option to choose soap or water which would be dispensed from the sprayer . However the number of coins inserted inside the controller determines the amount of time the customer is permitted to operate the car wash system . In most of the cases a certain fixed amount of minimum coins are necessary to start the system . This type of a car wash facility is equipped with separate vacuum stations that would allow the operator to clean the rugs and seat covers inside their cars .

Automatic car wash system:

The first automatic car wash system was introduced in the year 1950 . This car wash system as the name indicates consists of a tunnel like garages or bays inside which the customer has to drive his or her car for wash . There are some car washes that follow the exterior express trend, which allow the customers to pay the bill through a computerized point of scale unit which is also known as an auto sentry . This automatic car wash mechanism puts in the wash input through a tunnel master automatically . During the cleansing process of the car the car is put into a line which is often called the stack.

The stack moves sequentially up to the tunnel and an attendant guides the customer onto the track . Later when both the tires have passed over the tire sensor, the wash will pop from inside a roller . The task of this tire sensor is to let the car wash know where the wheels are located and how far they are apart from each other. Once the car is on the conveyor, the attendant will ask the customer to put his vehicle in to the neutral and then release all the brakes . The rollers present will catch hold of the tyres, thus pushing the car within a photo eye. This measures the vehicles length, which allows the computer to measure the wash of each individual car, as the equipment frame or arch may vary in number and design of the car . Later the customer will first come across one or two arches which are often called pre soak arches . A mild alkali with a low ph value is applied and then a mild alkali with a high ph value is applied .

The quantity of the alkali applied can vary depending on the chemical suppliers and the formula used . The customer will next come across the tire and the wheel nozzles, which is popularly called by the industry people as CTA . Here they apply a degreaser along with a high alkaline solution which could be even an acid. The next arch the customer would encounter would be the entrance wraps which is usually made of neo gild material . This is a gentle cloth, which will not scratch the vehicle unless something is caught in. This is the reason why most of the car wash system would not permit anything in the back of a truck throughout their wash. The front bumper should be rubbed with a good soft cloth . Most of the time the mitter? s cloth is used as they are gentle in touch . After the mitters phase the car passes through the exit wraps which are similar to the entrance wraps .

This is the place where the work involving water begins with streams of water consisting of high pressure jets in. Next comes the phase of tire spinner which is also called as an omni spinner . These are nothing but high pressure nozzles which are angled and mounted on a spindle . A high pressure is forced through this nozzle causing the nozzle to spin rapidly, which will blast the dirt from the cracks of the vehicle . After all this process the vehicle will be triple foamed with usually red, blue, and yellow color . Foams are generally of two types i .e. polish and wax. Polish is cheaper when compared to wax, but wax offers more protection than the polish . Near the rinser is the tire shiner which consists of foam pads having a thick oily substance like glycol that rubs the tires producing a wet and new look. At last at the end of the car wash the vehicle goes through the spot free rinse of soft water that is usually filtered with chlorine and is sent through the semi permeable membranes, which produces highly diluted water that does not leave spots on the vehicle body after the car wash .

Bikini car wash:

This car wash system is usually done in summer in the Untied States and Canada. There are two varieties of bikini car wash system . In the first category of the bikini car wash system a fund is generally raised in the name of a school, sport association or for charity purposes . The pretty school girls in bikinis call by the donors at the roadside with colorful cardboard signs and the cars are then washed by their male and female classmates at a nearby place .

The second variety bikini wash is a commercial variety of car wash, wherein the bikini worn girls have a car wash of their customers charging some fee along with the entertainment given to the car owners and the drivers.
