Easter activities
The time for Easter is around the corner and everyone wants to have as much fun as they can. It is a day of celebration and hence every hour is important. The Adults and the children co-mingle in many activities to celebrate the glorious day of Easter and the advent of spring.
If you want to try out another way of spending your day, then here are some entertaining suggestions. Easter is the festival of the Resurrection of Christ but down the years things have changed. Easter has brought in its symbolic Bunnies and Eggs along with Chicks and Lambs. They have now become Easters entertainment media.
Activities for children and adults
There are many exciting ways to celebrate this day and make it a memorable one. Games and Easter Activities that involve both Children and Adults bridge the gap around this time. The base is about having a good time. Most of the activities are played outdoors but if weather does not permit it, then the same can be adjusted to play indoors.
The egg and spoon race
This is a team game where this race can be called a relay for a certain length of time. Two teams compete with each other and it begins, the beginner runs with a spoon carrying a hard-boiled egg in his/her mouth and passes it on the next team member who then continues. Thus the team that finishes with all its members not dropping the egg is declared the winning team.
The bunny hop
This race can be a relay or an individual race where the children or
adults have to bunny hop to the finish line. The ones who finish first
is the winner or the winning team.
Easter egg hunt
Children are given baskets on Easter Sunday morning where they must go
looking for eggs that the Easter Activities
Bunny has hidden while they had been sleeping. The boundaries of this
game may go beyond the home, into the outside areas. The winner is the
child who brings back the most eggs. Often this game is played in parks
and gardens, sometimes with children, with adults or the community of
that area. This is a great way of interacting with your neighbors.
Variations of the egg hunt
The Math Egg Hunt is also another fun game where plastic eggs are numbered from 1 to 5 and hidden in various places in the house or outside. The children are asked to go and find the eggs and the ones who come back with the eggs that have add up to a higher total than the others, gets the prize. However to please all children, the ones who end up with less also gets to have candy hidden inside their eggs.
The Reverse Egg Hunt is where the children hide the eggs and the parents are asked to look for them. This is just as exciting and bonding as the other Easter Activities.
The Teenage Egg Hunt is for the older children at home. Clues begin at the breakfast table and the children have to follow the clues till they find a giant Easter egg with candy inside and of course the winner also gets money as a treat. The clues have to be made difficult such as to be found in poems that lead to mailboxes and so forth!
Easter egg roll
Here, although there are several ways of playing this game, the eggs are
to be rolled down a hill and the child or adults egg to reach the furthest
is declared the winner. The eggs are either dyed or colored so as to distinguish
one persons egg from another. This game can also be played by the players
pushing the eggs with their noses down the hill or even use a bamboo to help
push their eggs to the finish line. These eggs are usually consumed by the
player at the end of the race. This game is also traditionally played at the
White House Lawns on Easter Monday.
Egg shackling
This is an Easter Activities that children will love because of its rough nature that allows for loud noise. Each participant will need one hard-boiled egg. Here, the participants meets their opponent, holding on to their egg firmly while they attempt to crack the egg of the other, yet keeping theirs unbroken. The winner after each bout gets to keep the broken egg. The end winner is the one who has collected the most broken eggs.
Egghead
This is a very messy game but nonetheless enjoyable. Three eggs are taken out of which two are left raw and one is hard-boiled. The eggs are then put into a bowl and someone is made to pick one up and smash it on their heads. The one who gets the hard-boiled one gets the prize!
