Car audio electronics

A car audio is a term used to explain the sound system fitted in an automobile. A stock car audio system is a term which refers to the system fitted by the manufacturer when the car was sold. A custom car installation contains things like: the up gradation of the radio, an advanced customization of a car supported around the audio equipment.

The most universal piece of audio equipment is the radio, tape player, DVD player, CD player which is generally termed as a Head unit, which also can be called a head deck, after older tape decks. It is one of the components which are mostly upgraded. A current advancement has been with the installation, Ogg, USB, Wi-Fi, AAC, MP3, and WMA, and Bluetooth support in the CD players. The modern cars come with CD players or CD recorders, many of them also have CD changer, which is located in the trunk of the car. Traditionally speakers were located in the middle of the dash board, pointing through perforations towards the wind shield. In the modern cars, they are located in the doors and rear parcel shelves of the passenger cars. High-end or competition stereo systems often have speakers mounted in the kick panel enclosures. This allows the larger drivers a better driver placement.

The amplifier is a very important component of aloud speaker system. Amplifiers provide the necessary music power, measured in watts to drive the speakers. High Power amplifiers require a large gauge cable to provide adequate current to the amplifier. It is necessary to make sure that, the total power handling capacity of the speakers connected to the amplifier or head unit is greater than or equal to the power of the amplifier or head unit. Today with advancement in technology, the more recent changes in the car equipments have been of LCD screens and DVD players. The fittings of the LCD screen depend upon the head unit; the screen can be built in such a manner that it slides out and folds up or included into the system.

Many times the DVD head unit can transfer the videos on separately mounted displays which can be mounted on the headrest for the rear seat passengers to view or can be folding from the roof. The screen can also show videos of a built in component such as a parking cameras, a 3G cell phone or navigation system which is automatically activated, as soon as the car is reversed. The other components which make up a high end car installation complete are: multiple CD changers, mobile videos, audio processors, cables, crossovers and car computers. A few of the well known audio manufacturers brands are as follows: Blaupkunt, Kenwood, Panasonic, Sony, Digital Audio, and Pioneer. While purchasing a car audio system a few things need to be considered, like the budget set up by the individual, the type of system required, the system shouldnt be complicated to use.
