But, to go camping, remember you got to have those outdoor equipments like, a tent, ropes for climbing, carabiners, climbing harnesses, and other small items such as a compass, barometer, gas stove for cooking, etc., etc., etc. and you can get all of these, provided you know how to choose the right ones. Therefore, just go through the information provided and it will help you to make the right choice for buying the right equipment.

Various Equipment:

Tents:

For those of you who love to go camping, there is a roomy, stable tent 11x8.5x7.5, and that will be just right. This tent is waterproof and is very well ventilated, i.e. there is excellent ventilation through vents, doors and windows. The internal windows are fully zippered to provide you with privacy and most of all to keep the insects away at night so that you have an insect-free camping. The inner tent, which is 7.5x8x7, is attached with waterproof ground. Then there is an extra space between the inner and outer tent provides place for storage and it can also be used for sitting purpose. This space can also be used for sleeping for extra two people. The outer tent is fixed on an aluminum-folding frame and is very easy to assemble. It weighs about 15 kg. This tent is large enough for a family and yet small enough to fit into the booty of small cars.

There are toilet tents that can be used as ready-made zipper tents instead of open air.

Ropes:

You will need a sturdy rope to go mountain climbing. But remember, a climbing rope is the indispensable lifeline for the climber and so it should not fail. Therefore, try to understand the design and construction and with a little knowledge of selecting the right rope and knowing how to use it, you can reduce the risks associated with climbing. So read carefully the instructions on how to select and how to use the ropes:

Rope Design & Construction:

The climbing rope should be dynamic. It should stretch when you fall on it, absorbing shock and dissipating the energy generated by the fall.

The SHEATH is braided very tightly around the core so as to protect the core against abrasion.

Knots, bends, rock edges, falls, reduce ropes strength. If a rope is run over a carabiner of 10mm diameter, it will reduce the ropes strength by 30%.

A rope should not be too stiff or you will find it very difficult to tie knots and the knots may even untie themselves, and if a rope is too loose it will let the knots become too tight when loaded and it will be very difficult to untie it.

Nylon ropes are treated with water-repellent coating to prevent moisture absorption because absorption of water increases the weight of the rope and reduces its strength and the ability to absorb impact forces. Moreover, treated ropes remain lighter and stronger than the untreated ropes. But, the treatment wears off with the use of rope. However, ropes with tightly woven sheaths absorb water slower than the ropes with loosely woven sheaths.

Kinking of rope is natural. Therefore, to prevent kinking you need to uncoil the rope properly from the coil. For this, place your arms inside the main coil and spin your arms slowly allowing the rope to unwind. Please, do not pull the rope.

Thick ropes last longer and hold more falls. Small diameter ropes are light and easy to clip into protection. Double ropes can be clipped alternately through the protection thus reducing rope drag and decreasing the chances of rope failure over an edge.

Carabiners:

They are designed, tested and manufactured to ensure adequate strength for their intended use. Some carabiners are heavier and stronger and some are lightweight and less strong. They can break and/or open accidentally if not used properly. They are rated to 2000-3200kg of force. They come in various shapes such as oval, D-shape, asymmetrical-D, etc.

- The oval carabiners are the original style. They have large interior space to hold lots of gear.

- The D-shaped carabiners are very popular because of their high strength to weight ratio. More loads are placed on the spine of the carabiner, which is its strongest part.

- The asymmetrical-D carabiners are smaller at one end in order to reduce weight. They have larger gate openings, which makes clipping them easier.

- Bent gate carabiners have concave gates for easy clipping. If it is not used properly it can easily unclip from the rope.

Climbing Harness:

Since it is the most important link between the climber and the rope, it is very essential that it should fit well. If it is too big or small, you will feel uncomfortable. If it is too tight it will restrict your movement or/and pinch. If it is loose you could slip out of it in the event of an inverted fall. Therefore it is better to fit your harness on the clothes you will wear for climbing. Remember that the harnesses should sit snugly above the hipbones and should be impossible to pull down, because if you cannot keep your harness above your hips it will not hold you in the event of an inverted fall. And also be sure that the harness is not so tight that it interferes with your breathing. Climbing harnesses come in 3 basic designs: Diaper style, waist belt/leg loop combinations, and full body.

DIAPER HARNESSES have a waist belt and webbing loop, which is pulled through the crotch from behind to form the leg loops. They are adjustable and can be worn in winter over thick clothing and in summer with light clothing.

WAIST BELT/LEG LOOP COMBINATION: These harnesses are the most common ones and very comfortable too. It has a waist belt with a buckle closure and leg loops. They are padded for comfort.

FULL BODY HARNESSES are specially designed for children up to the age of ten. These harnesses need to be buckled in a very specific way in order to be secure.

Besides these equipments, there are also many other types of equipment, which you may need such as barometer, thermometer, stopwatch, altimeter watch, digital compass, etc. Also, there are many other outdoor activities held such as Bird watching, there is a pair of binoculars with multi-coated red lens for clear and outstanding images. For Rock climbing, there are harnesses with adjustable and removable leg loops. For Rappelling, Static ropes designed with minimal stretch, etc., etc., etc.
