Keepsake ornament
Keepsake ornaments are those things that are generally used to decorate and to be given as gifts to your friends and loved ones. They are not of any particular use but to decorate and as symbol of love and affection. The most common occasion where keepsake ornaments are used is, of course, Christmas. Keepsake ornaments are given away as gifts as well used to decorate the Christmas tree.
Decorating the Christmas tree is as old a tradition as celebrating Christmas itself, one may say. But commercialization of such keepsake ornaments is a recent development. Although it is rampant and bears more commercial importance in America, the tradition originated in central Europe. The Germans started the tradition of decorating the Christmas trees in the 17th century, when F.W. Woolworth decorated his Christmas tree with ornaments manufactured by the Germans. By 1935, more than 250 million Christmas ornaments were being imported to United States. Thus the Christmas trees which were earlier decorated with edibles were later replaced by radiant glass ornaments. Today, according a survey, 97 percent of Americans display decorated Christmas trees.
However, the first time Christmas tree balls were seen was as early as 1848 while pine cones were among the first few designs created by the artisans. They include traditional images of Christmas, such as nutcrackers and glass models of Santa Claus, which are a customary part of Christmas ornaments that are hung on Christmas trees. The latest fashion of keepsake ornaments made out of different materials has become the craze of the day. A huge number of ornament industries have been attracting the customers with their wide range of keepsake ornaments.
People prefer their Christmas ornaments to be unique, as that would earn the attention of their guests. After all, keepsake ornaments are status symbol. Great care is taken both by the artisans, who display their finesse through their craftsmanship, as well as by the buyer who wants to spend money only on something worthwhile.
Keepsake ornaments are also given as gifts for occasions apart from Christmas. Generally such gifts are theme-based. They can be for wedding, child birth, birthdays, anniversaries and several others. For example, photo albums make wonderful keepsake gifts for any occasion, as one can use them to recall the memory of any special moment
Or for the bride or groom who loves to cook, crockery can be given as wedding keepsake gifts. Such items can not only be kept for display but also be used for special occasions.
Candles make fantastic wedding keepsake gifts. They are available in a variety of fashion; colored candles, aromatic candles, clear candles with submerged wax flowers, candles in different shapes to suit any theme and so on.
Finding keepsake gifts is not hard at all, if one uses a proper theme and uses a little bit of creativity to choose the same, as the options are unlimited. These keepsake ornaments need not be only gifts from others. Those who have collecting unique things as a hobby may also possess these ornaments.
