TOPIC: Close popup

Re:Close popup 3 Years, 5 Months ago
hi,
sorry for the late reply, i had been away for a while.
I have it on, i just had it set to session aware.
i turned session aware off, and so you should be able to always see it on all articles pages, e.g.
cmfrenzy.com/football_manager_2008/fm_20...fm_guide_part_1.html
please tell me once you have seen it, cause i don't want to have session aware off for long

Re:Close popup 3 Years, 5 Months ago
I just realised that on another page the popin shows just fine
www.cmfrenzy.com/tactics.html
The second page is a static page whereas the first is the normal article layout page.
I wanted the popup to load in any article and (as setting {popin} in an html module didn't seem to work) i used the multiads plugin (which i use to display google ads in every article) and added the {popin} tag there.
I don't know why it shows ok in a static article while it is scrumbled in a dynamic article

sorry for the repeated posts. I can't keep the popin open continously, cause users complain. I am attaching here the page code

Get in touch by email my friend using the Contact Us button and we'll arrange a time when you can switch on and I can troubleshoot because the code looks fine.

Re:Close popup 2 Years, 11 Months ago
In my testing on FF3, sometimes I get the X to close the window but oftentimes not. My temporary work around is to make the popup "session aware" so it should only load once and then using a button in the html, I just link it to the same page again. The next time it loads, the session aware magic makes the popup disappear. I presume that this popup lives outside of joomla rendering the html inside the popup powerless to close the window. Is that a fair statement? Otherwise, we could put in a timer that would show it for a fixed amount of time and then automatically close it to get around the problem of the X appearing sometimes but not at others. Just my 2 cents.

I suspect something in your template may be interfering with the way the popup works. On our test environment the close button always shows up, no matter what the browser. Unfortunately it is extremely difficult to cater for all scenarios especially when you get steps to replicate the errors.
