TOPIC: Front page trigger

Front page trigger 3 Years ago
I read your reply to someone else saying the best way to get this to appear on the front page was either to put the plugin tag in an article or to create a module that contains the popin tag.

1/ The articles on my front page change all the time, so there really isn't an article that's staying there that I could put the tag into. I tried putting it into an article that had no other content and putting that article in the newsflash module, but the popin tag just appeared as text when I did that, so I assume it has to be in the main content.

2/ I have no idea how to create a module, I am not a programmer, and I can't seem to find any modules that could be used to display an article. Even if they existed, I assume it would look very strange on the content of the page.

If its any help, the website is this Paris Events Guide.

Is there some sort of hack I can use, or a module you can point me to that could be used to trigger the plugin? I can't seem to find a solution for this.

Finally, just to add my vote to what I've heard elsewhere. Since I'm trying to create an Acajoom subscription window, it would be really useful if I could insert the acajoom subscription module into the popup. Instead of that I have a fairly messy hack, so it's definitely on my wishlist..!

Thanks,

Nicolas.

I finally found a module that displays content elements for Joomla 1.5 : mod_placehere. It works well and allows me to trigger the plugin invisibly from the sidebar.

Cheers,

N.

That's great news, I'll share your information with the rest of the world.

As for the Acajoom subscription, it *should* be possible to do that, though for really complex HTML, sometimes things go bottoms up.
