Slide menu - problems with 2nd instance 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hi all,

I love this module, easy styling and all, just have one problem:

I have two menus that call for use of the module, and only the one higher in the order works.

Here's the details of combinations I've tried:

If a menu with second level links is higher in position than the one with no second level links - everything is OK.

If a menu with second level links is lower in position than the one with no second level links - second level doesn't show.

If both menus have 2nd level links - the one on top seems to inherit links from the bottom one, rendering both menus useless.

I Presume, I have to somehow separate instances of the module form each other, just not sure how

I doubt two instances of the menu will work together ... especially since the menu wasn't planned to really work that way. It outputs the same CSS names, and this is causing the problem you are facing.

Can't you merge the two menus into one?

I can't really merge them - since one is yellow pages and other one is classifieds...

I wonder if there's a workaround there?

I also have this problem. Could you please suggest a possible fix? Should I try to use unique CSS names or... ?

I started playing around with it - but got my hands full with some other stuff - as far as I've got to figuring it out - it takes essentially duplicating all the variables and classes in JS and CSS files and then renaming them to %variable_name%_1 and %class_name%_1 respectively (doubling the size of the module )...

Crude, I know, but i'm not much of a programmer.

Please, clever ppl, help us here!

Huh, I solved this issue by duplicating module (and rename it: mod_slidemenu2) and replaceing text "ddsidemenubar" with "ddsidemenubar2" in 'tmpl/default.php' . In this way, I have two modules mod_slidemenu with ddsidemenubar CSS ID and mod_slidemenu2 with ddsidemenubar2 CSS ID and all links are displayed correctly. Thanks!
