Styling the Sliding Menu 2 Years, 6 Months ago
Hello!

This may be a bit of a daft question (sorry, I am newish to Joomla), but is there anywhere that I can find out how to restyle the sliding menu? I basically want to change the colours, or alternatively, have it run in the style of the 'Milkyway Template' Main Menu...

Any ideas?

Many thanks,
Bryan

Hi!!

I just found this great module.. so far no problems!!

I think that for restyling this module you have to modificate the CSS files in the /ddlevelsfiles directory. Im lookin into this right now...

Greetings!!

Hello,

I love this menu - so far I`ve been able to do all the styling I need in the modules` css files - however there is one thing I need to do that I haven `t figured out yet.

when the submenu slides down I need to put a 5px space, then a 5px red border along the top to have it fit my template (not for every menu item, but for the very top of the submenu before the sub menu items)

any suggestions on how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated.

What an awesome module!!!

I figured it out - it`s all very logical

in the 'ddlevelsmenu-topbar.css' file I put a 5px border on the bottom of the .mattblackmenu li a selector

and on the 'ddlevelsmenu-base.css' file I put a 5 px border on the top of the .ddsubmenustyle, .ddsubmenustyle ul selector - and presto! a space and a border to fit the template!!!

Couldn `t be easier.

I`m on my way to the joomla jed to give this a top rating.

thanks again for such an awesome module - it`s now my #1 choice for menu design

Really good to know you figured it out and pasted the help to others. I'll update the module guide to include your hints too.

Hello, you`ve got a great module here, very user friendly.

I am having a bit of a problem with one thing - my client wants to have all the dropdowns be a uniform height regardless of the number of menu items.

I`ve tried adding 'height:248px;' to '.ddsubmenustyle, .ddsubmenustyle ul' - and it almost works - the ul goes to the full height - but it immediately pulls back to the height of the actual menu items.

any suggestions on how I could get the dropdowns to set at a unifom size would be greatly appreciated.

(note - I noticed this in the .js page '//2) Drop Down Menus now auto adjust their positioning if too close to either right or bottom window edges.'

I think that is what is happening? can I turn off the auto-adjust on the bottom?)
