It all can be done via CSS. You'll have to tweak the CSS of your template and adjust accordingly.

Probably, but don't know what to look for and change into. I tried some changes in menu's css files but nothing happened. All it needs is somehow to define the output width of this particular menu and not all left modules' styling in general.

I have the same problem only in IE7 (it works fine in IE8 and FF3). When rolling over the parent menu items, the sub nav disappears before it can be reached. I removed the overflow:hidden and this did not resolve the issue.
