JCE - Joomla Content EditorHow many times have you found the procedure of inserting an image into content very user unfriendly. And how many times has the default content editor caused you frustration with its obvious limitations. Well, Joomla Content Editor comes to your rescue. This component is a must have for all regular content editors.
JCE provides Rich Text Area editing features for Joomla content items, enhanced by a collection of plugins that assist in performing editing tasks such as uploading and inserting images and media. After following the instructions to install the component (AND the mambot), you can change the default content editor for each user in Site > User Manager and choose JCE Content Editor. You can also make JCE the default Joomla Editor in the Global Site Configuration under Default WYSIWYG editor. Now instead of inserting a { mos image } each time you want to insert an image, you can click on the image icon, choose the image manually (or upload it there and then instead of via the Media Manager), choose the alignment and the image gets inserted directly into your content so you can see how it will be displayed.
You can also use other various JCE functions such as Paste From Word (to keeo formatting), use a Spell checker on your content, change fonts, and various other functions. Once you install it, you'll never use another Joomla site without it. Compare the amount of functions in TinyMCE
and in JCE
Warning: Remember that this is a 3rd party module and may compromise your site's security. In this case the risk may be even larger because code you insert may create additional vulnerabilites. Always make sure that your code comes from a trusted source.
