Mod HTML for Joomla 1.5 (Native)

Mod HTML allows you to add any HTML snippet or JavaScript code to your Joomla 1.5 Website via a module. This module is an adjustment of the Joomla 1.0 module, such that the module runs without having to enable Joomla 1.5 legacy mode.

There are unlimited uses of Mod HTML. Amongst other things you can use the module to achieve the following results:MyBlog

  • mod HTML allows you to add any html or javascript to your modules withought having to change any settings in Joomla. Therefore you don't have to disable your editor to insert an HTML snippet. Just create a mod html module, and insert your HTML or Javascript into this module.
  • You can copy the module in the Module Manager, for quick clones of an advertisement or banner ad. Also since a large number of advertisments, affiliates, or third party modules come as small HTML snippets, mod html allows you to insert this HTML into your Joomla 1.5 website without having to mess around with your template.
  • Another great usage of mod html is to insert Google AdSense into your website. Just copy and paste from your google adsense account page.

Download

Please Register and Login to download. If you like it, please take a moment to write a small review on the Joomla Extensions site, vote for us, or link to us!

The module is extremely simple to use. Simply paste your HTML / JavaScript in the HTML parameter, enable and you are good to go.

Compatibility

There are three versions, one for 1.5 (native), which has two layouts (default which uses Divs, ULs and LIs, and table layout which uses tables). There are another two versions for 1.0. The two versions for 1.0 are for DIVs and tables respectively.

Installation

To install the module, simple go to (Extensions > Module Manager for Joomla 1.5), choose the file you have downloaded above and click on the upload and install button.

I like the module, but how can I get the ads to open in a new page?
DART  - new page code   |Administrator |2009-02-06 06:54:05
In the link to the new page insert a target="_blank" to open the link in
a new page. This is normal HTML code.
tedd  - new page code   |76.114.54.xxx |2009-02-06 13:17:15
ok thx, thats what I thought. but after some research I find that adsense cannot
include that as per Google

thanks again though
DART  - new page code   |Administrator |2009-02-06 13:32:47
No, you cannot do that on Google AdSense ...
Emanuel   |96.240.0.xxx |2009-02-18 16:14:08
The module does not work with IE7 browser. Firefox and IE6 are fine. Any
suggestions?
DART  - IE7   |Administrator |2009-02-18 17:48:11
That's a very generic statement. Could it be that the specific HTML that you
have does not work rather than the module?
Emanuel     |96.240.0.xxx |2009-02-19 13:45:59
The module has an Adsense code in it. Please check the website (in process of
setting up) http://www.beerauthority.com

Thank you

You can try uploading the files to the modules directory on joomla, however
we've never tried it that way, do other modules install correctly?

Well check the last things you've changed from when installations stopped
working... might be permissions.

Now I understand your problem. However, I have my doubts whether it is a problem
which is related to the HTML module. I am guessing it may be a problem with the
link verification on the Directory?
LB   |76.226.189.xxx |2009-05-31 04:16:47
I think this works good as long as I place the module as a free standing
extension tied to a menu, but I can't figure out how to embed a custom html
extension within an existing article.

The Joomla 1.5 system says this should be
easy to do, but I can't figure it out.

Joomla says: "Quick Tips?You can
insert a Joomla! Module inside an Article by typing "{loadposition
xxx}", where "xxx" is the position entered for the desired Module.
Note that the position name must not conflict with a position used by your
Joomla! template. It can be any name (e.g., "mymoduleposition1" as long
as it matches the position name typed in for the Module. The Menu Assignment for
the Module must include the Menu Item where the Article is displayed, and the
Plugin called "Content - Load Module" must be enabled (which it is by
default). This feature allows you, for example, to insert a Custom HTML Module

Previous message truncated...

Has anybody been successful in inserting a module
within an article? Any hints?

many thx, zip
LB   |76.226.189.xxx |2009-05-31 05:02:51
Ouch. Figured it out. The word "position" threw me off. I would rather
think of that as a "nickname"

In module place a convienent nickname
into the box titled "position". e.g. "paypal_button"

In the
article at the desired location add {loadposition paypal_button} .

works
okay.

index.html code shows up in the text box! lol! that isnt good!

please

Mystic Politics  - hmmm     |209.40.151.xxx |2009-07-01 21:56:33
well they dont appear here either. interesting...

well its the < /textarea>
and < /label> tags im refering to. when i hit apply the module removes those
tags from the code in the module. as a result the text box shows all the code in
the left column and more.

i really need this to work, as it wont work by
adding the html to the html backend of an article either....
